Worship & Music

Because One UCC represents a uniting community, our worship reflects two different styles that have been gradually transitioning into 'one'. We honor the Reformed tradition in our "traditional/liturgical" worship service. This traditional/blended service primarily makes use of the New Century Hymnal published by the United Church of Christ - which we perform in both a traditional way (on organ), and also as updated modern arrangements of those traditional hymns by incorporating rhythm/percussion tracks. A chancel choir and handbell choir perform during the traditional services throughout the year.

Our worship service is at 10:30am on Sunday mornings and ends at 11:30 am. We observe Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month as well as special liturgical occassions such as Christmas Eve, Easter, and Pentecost. Pew communion is observed. Children with their parents' permission are included in our practice of communion. Our pastor follows the Revised Common Lectionary texts for preaching purposes.

One UCC is a church that seeks to embody meaning through our structure and practice of worship, so we might see our Lord clearly and vividly in all that we do, and learn the richness and joy of life lived by His grace and power, through faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ.
