Olivet-Schwenkfelder UCC is an Open and Affirming Community of Faith.

Our doors are WIDE OPEN to ALL people regardless of race, culture, gender, age, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or socio-economic status.

Our community strives to explore and live the meaning of Christian discipleship in an ever-changing world, seeking to praise God, to nurture our faith, to love and support one another in fellowship, always looking for opportunities where we may serve others and, in that way, serve God.

OSUCC Values

LOVE
We believe in Christ's great commandments: to love God with all our strength, soul, heart and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. We believe God's grace is extended to all, and seek to offer grace and forgiveness to ourselves and one another.

INCLUSION
We celebrate each person's participation and contribution as a joyful response in expressing love for God. We welcome and affirm persons of every age, race, ethnicity, ability, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, and any others who are excluded. We invite all God's children to be part of our journey.

COVENANT
We are all connected to one another, bound in covenantal relationship as Christ's body. We prayerfully seek to discern what is best for the Church and God's people as a whole, not ourselves or a small fraction of the body.

RESPECT
We are called to "do no harm" to one another and to "speak the truth with love." Recognizing that disagreement and conflict occur, we seek to communicate with respect and integrity, to listen to one another, speak directly with one another, speak for ourselves only, and use speech that is open, thoughtful, constructive, and compassionate.
