Adult Sunday School

Sunday School for adults meets every week after church. The Present Word Bible study guide, which is published by the United Church of Christ, the Presbyterian Church USA, and other churches, is the book we use.

The Present Word follows the international Sunday School lesson schedule which is followed by churches around the world. The Sunday School lessons are taken from throughout the New and Old Testament and are organized around eight themes; God, creation, hope, faith, community, tradition, justice and worship.
Each lesson gives the class the opportunity to learn about the background to the selected reading and some details to that time in church history.

The participants are church members, not theologians or ministers, so Sunday School is not about teaching beliefs. We encourage curiosity to learn about the history and back story of the lesson. We welcome diverse points of view about how the reading applies to us or the current world. Our inquisitiveness, learning and fellowship make our lives richer. We would be happy to have you bring your ideas and be part of our discussions.
