Special Announcement

Dear First Congregational Church Family and Friends,

As the COVID-19 virus impacts our daily lives for the time being, we continue to adjust and support one another as a Family of Faith. It’s been a long time since we have been able to worship in-person. The Reopening Work Group and Church Council are working on guidelines that will make it possible for us to reopen in phases as safely as possible.

Special Note: By resolution of Church Council approved September 8, 2020, and for the continued safety and health of our members and friends, our Sunday worship services will continue to be held online until the Covid-19 testing "positivity rate" in Washoe County drops to 5% or less for at least three consecutive weeks. So - please book mark our web site in your browser as a "Favorite" and join us on the "Worship Services" page each week! Blessings from your Church Family!

In the meantime, Worship and Reflection does NOT end with gathered worship.

Church is NOT our building. It is US - you and me and we. However we gather - by phone, web, e-mail, social media or otherwise - WE are still the church and WE continue to reflect God’s presence among us.
And so, we will:

• Continue to share daily written messages and devotional resources.
• Continue virtual worship. This worship experience will be posted on our web site at
http://www.renofirstcongregational.org

and on our Facebook page, and on our YouTube Channel at

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=reno+first+congregational+church

Beyond worship and reflection, we continue to exercise our faith. Here are some ways to consider:

• Keep in touch with your church family members. A simple call can make a world of difference.
• We want to make sure everyone’s emotional, physical, and spiritual needs are met during these challenging times. Our deacons continue to help us remain in contact and make sure that the church continues to be here for you. Please contact the church office or call any of our deacons as the need may arise. We are here for you!
• Please also prayerfully keep in mind that salaries and other church expenses must be covered, whether we are gathering in person or by other means. Your continuing support makes this possible.

With the teachings of Jesus as our guide, and looking out for one another as we are called to do, we will get through this Coronavirus challenge, and our Church will be stronger as a result.

In closing, let us keep together in all we do, and in prayer.

Holy God, ever present with us, we are mindful of these times in which we live. Uncertainty, anxiety, and fear are present among us as we listen to and care for one another. We ask that your peace and healing presence be with us, as we hold each other in love. We ask your guidance and direction as we live out your command to love one another as we are called to love you. In the name of the one who has called us and prepared us for these challenging days, we pray. Amen.

Love and Blessings,

Pastor Kate
